2022 ANNUAL REPORT

Dear Friends,

Since 2011, Harlem Grown has been committed to raising the quality of life for the Harlem community, by providing residents with the critical tools needed to drive lasting change. With a mission to inspire and empower low-income youth through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability and nutrition, Harlem Grown’s programs are designed to use urban farms as living classrooms and facilitate hands-on lessons for youth in Harlem. By introducing children from urban settings to sustainable growing practices that extend beyond our farm-based education programming, we cultivate a sense of membership in an environmentally conscious, sustainable community.

Because food justice is more than just providing and distributing food, our model seeks to positively impact the entire community through mentorship, education, and partnerships to create sustainable change. Our 13 urban agricultural sites across Harlem, and 7 different programs, work in tandem to reach and impact youth throughout the entire calendar year.

We are so grateful for your support of our work and mission and extend our sincerest gratitude for your generosity in helping to make Harlem Grown a tremendous success.

Sincerely,

Nicole Engel
