The Reading Circle is structured around three free libraries aka book boxes in Marcus Garvey Park.

MGPA will host guest authors and guest performers to read and entertain the children gathered for the Reading Circle. MGPA has hosted the Reading Circle for nearly 10 years during the months of July and August.  On a weekly basis, families and summer day camp groups have gathered in the park for literacy activities including games, listening to stories read by librarians and guest authors and for cultural performances.  Children range in age from pre school to elementary school age with most children falling into the early childhood age range.
